I am proud to represent Maryland's 8th Congressional District, home to over 700,000 Marylanders and a wide range of wonderful opportunities for residents, businesses and visitors.  Comprised of portions of Frederick, Montgomery and Carroll Counties, the 8th District is a vibrant community with a rich history that offers something for everyone.

Frederick County was formed in 1748 and is thought to have been named for Frederick Calvert, the 6th Lord of Baltimore who encouraged settlement in the area. The County is home to several State and National Parks, including Catoctin Mountain Park, site of the Camp David Presidential Retreat.

Montgomery County, named after General Richard Montgomery, was established by the State Convention in 1776 and is Maryland's most populous jurisdiction. 

Carroll County formed in 1837 and was named after Maryland native Charles Carroll, the last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence. The City of Westminster in Carroll Country was the site of Corbit's Charge, the famous Civil War battle that many believe contributed to Robert E. Lee's eventual defeat at Gettysburg.
