United States Representative Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) has announced the names of the students from the Eighth Congressional District who have accepted appointments to the U.S Service Academies. The names follow below.

Van Hollen announced that the application process for high school students seeking nominations for the entering class of 2009 has begun. Students wishing to attend one of the Uniformed Service Academy beginning in the 2009-10 school year can obtain an application at vanhollen.house.gov.
