Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) met with members of the Greater Washington and Baltimore Chapters of Hadassah at the Rayburn House Office Building.
Among the topics Congressman Van Hollen discussed during the meeting were U.S.- Israel relations, genetic nondiscrimination and stem cell research.
Van Hollen is an original cosponsor of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act that would bar discrimination by employers and insurers on the basis of genetic information. He is also a co-sponsor of the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act of 2007 which passed the U.S. House of Representatives as part of the Democrats' first 100 hours legislative agenda.
