Students from Kensington, Silver Spring, Rockville, Bethesda, Garrett Park and Chevy Chase Win Honors in Congressional Art Competition




Washington, D.C. - United States Representative Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) announced today that Leonardo Ramos of Kensington, a student at Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, is the winner of the 25th Annual Congressional Art Competition for the Eighth Congressional District of Maryland.  His entry, a self-portrait done in oil, will be on display in the United States Capitol, beginning in June, for one year.  Three runners-up will have their work displayed in Van Hollen’s Capitol Hill and district offices.  The winners, chosen from more than 200 entries, were announced during an awards ceremony on April 3 at The Mansion at Strathmore in North Bethesda.  The exhibition will be on display at The Mansion at Strathmore from April 3-28, 2006 and is open to the public for viewing.  The following is a list of winners.
