Washington, D.C. - Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) today met with Arva Jackson of Potomac, MD during the Second Annual African-American Leadership Summit: “From Brown to the Ballot,” held at the U.S. Capitol. Jackson was invited by Van Hollen to travel to Washington to participate in the discussions on the impact of national issues within the African American community.
The daylong Summit focused on national issues including jobs and the economy, education, healthcare, voting rights, access to capital and housing and security. The Second Annual African-American Leadership Summit: “From Brown to the Ballot,” was sponsored by House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi’s African American Working Group, the Congressional Black Caucus, and the Senate Democratic Caucus.
