Washington, D.C. - United States Representative Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), a member of the Government Reform Committee, was part of a bipartisan congressional delegation to the Middle East during the Presidents’ Day Recess.
While there, Van Hollen examined firsthand the reconstruction efforts, gauged troop morale, and ascertained from both civilian and the military what we can expect in the future. He also met with Ambassador Paul Bremer and Lt. Gen. Ricardo S. Sanchez. Chris also spent time with U.S. troops including soldiers from Maryland’s Eighth Congressional District.
Van Hollen was joined on the trip by Reps. Tom Davis (R-VA), Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), John Carter (R-TX), Mike Burgess (R-TX), Shelly Capito (R-WV).
